RECAP: 1 YEAR AGO, BTS' SUGA ANNOUNCED HIS SOLO WORLD TOUR - SUGA I AGUST D D-DAY TOUR

One year ago, SUGA announced his solo world tour. Today, It’s highest-grossing tour by a K-pop soloist in history (over $57.2M in revenue from 28/28 shows). The SUGA Agust D Tour, also known as SUGA | AGUST D TOUR 'D-DAY' following the album release, marked the inaugural worldwide concert tour by the renowned South Korean rapper, Suga, also recognized as Agust D. The tour was in support of his debut studio album, D-Day, a significant milestone in his solo career. Commencing on April 26, 2023, in the vibrant city of New York, the tour spanned across various international destinations, creating musical waves that resonated with fans globally. The journey reached its crescendo on August 6, 2023, with a spectacular finale in Seoul, South Korea, SUGA's home ground.

Big Hit Music revealed Suga's world tour announcement on February 14, 2023. The poster featured dates for 20 gigs across the US, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea. New performances were announced on March 10, 2023, for June 2–4 in Kanagawa, Japan's Pia Arena MM. On April 5, 2023, more performances in Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand, were revealed. Three further encore performances at Seoul, South Korea's KSPO Dome were announced on June 25, 2023, during the artist's then-last worldwide concert tour date. This brings the total number of shows to 28. Tickets to the U.S. leg of the tour were made available for pre-sale to BTS' global fan club members on March 1 via Ticketmaster, with a general public on-sale scheduled for March 3. On March 1, Ticketmaster reported that all tickets would be released during the first pre-sale because "the demand exceeded the number of available tickets"; the general verified fan pre-sale and public on-sale were subsequently cancelled due to continued high demand.

The announcement from Big Hit Music on February 14, 2023, was a pivotal moment for fans as they learned of Suga's upcoming world tour. Accompanied by an enticing poster, the announcement outlined an impressive lineup of 20 shows scheduled in prominent locations such as the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea. The excitement continued to build with subsequent announcements.

On March 10, 2023, additional shows were unveiled, set to take place from June 2–4 at the esteemed Pia Arena MM in Kanagawa, Japan. The global journey expanded even further on April 5, 2023, with the revelation of extra shows scheduled for Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand.

Adding an unexpected twist to the tour's narrative, June 25, 2023, became a remarkable date during the artist's penultimate worldwide concert tour in Seoul. Three surprise encore shows were announced at the iconic KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea, bringing the grand total of shows to an impressive 28. Suga's Agust D Tour, characterized by its global reach and the electrifying performances, not only celebrated the artist's musical prowess but also solidified his position as a dynamic force in the international music scene.
